I moved to Cleveland from NY for my boyfriend bc Im pursuing a career & i know he can help me get there with his knowledge&connections plus i love him so i figured its def worth the move..

but i left all my friends family i mean MY LIFE to move 8 hrs away from everything i know but i love him & i know its the right career move as well

well right now im overweight but im gettin in shape workin out & losing weight & so far have lost 32lbs since April1st & its important to be fit bc the buisness im gettin in has alot 2 do with the way u look as well, this i know

So I told him i really dont want to go out much bc i dont want 2 B distracted from losing weight as im doing really good…but that doesnt mean me & him cant do things together fun..like go 4 walks…play games…etc…

All he does is sit on the computer all day long & im always sooo bored…& if he aint on the computer were watching tv or a movie together but as soon as its over he hops on the computer…

he owns his own buisness & its from home & i know he needs 2 B on the computer 4 it but it only requires a couple of hours not ALL DAY & the weekends…Also I help him with his buisness im always helping his retype everything bc he’s not that good at spelling & punctuation (i know i misspell everything on here&dont use correct punctuation..etc..but this is YA not college & im tryin 2 type this as fast as possible) & im always doing exactly what he asks me to do..like hes my boss & i follow his instructions..so i pretty much do whatever he asks of me

but he never does anything that i ask? like its bout to be June its HOT & he still hasnt put the a.c’s in! I asked hi so nicely when was he gonna do it & he sed he was and thats 3 days ago…so not only am i bored but HOT & he has his a.c in in his office downstairs where he is all the time but i am usually in the bedroom, workout room or living room & he has yet to put the a.c’s in these rooms there just sitting in the closet! its like hes comfortable with the a.c but im not…& i wouldnt mind going in the office with him but he has this really comfortable office chair & my chair is the most uncomfortable thing ever!! He bought himslef a new chair but didnt think of me..& im in there as much as he is throughout the week helping him with his buisness..

my point is i feel like im waisting my time…im always bored & i feel im too young to be just laying around the house all day havin no life & being on the computer all day long or watching movies & cable tv…everytime i talk to my girls or my family back home everyones always going out dancing…or to the beach…to the shore..out & im sitting home in the house 24/7!!

im only 24 & hes 38 & i feel like im way too young for this!!! im way to young to be soo bored w/oa life!!

& if i bring it to his attention he gets mad @ me & fights with me so i dont even bother nemore.i dunno im just so boreed

The woman who shares the office with me has been sick all week. Today she’s at a low point: coughing, sneezing, gasping for air, loudly announcing to everyone in the vicinity that she’s sick and can’t do much work today. We don’t even have windows to get some fresh air into our space.

She’s always bragging "I let my vacation days go to waste!" and "I come to work no matter what; I don’t use sick days!" These are PAID days, so it’s not like she will lose her salary if she stays home.

I’ve already caught something from her once. I’m sure I’m going to get this one as well, and I take a long time to heal (I’m asthmatic with weak lungs). And, I’m fairly new, so I have not yet accrued paid days – so you guessed it, if I get sick, I have no choice but to come in (or take the pay cut).

Also: you might think she’s just very dedicated, but in reality her workload is light and most of the time she’s either asleep in her chair at her desk or else making personal calls.

A friend who also works in an office said I should speak up to my boss about it, but another said I cannot. I sort of feel like I agree that I can’t – I really don’t know what the etiquette is in this sort of situation!

I transferred to another state for a job, in order to stay with the same company.After about a month into the position I was harassed by 2 men. I was in a room with just them and no other supervisors. One guy was constantly insulting me whenever I asked a question about the task I was learning. The other guy kept hitting on me, asking me out and making sexual advances including touching my hand, trying to hold it, and pulling me closer to him when I was sitting my my office chair. I was really creeped out and I’d go home feeling horrible at the end of the day. I went to a manager (female) and told her this and she didn’t believe me and made excuses for both men. I had a breakdown after a week when I found out the one guy was married and both men knew it, but played ‘good cop/bad cop’ to get him laid. Management has now focused on making my life horrible since I had the breakdown and told them I didn’t feel comfortable working with either of them. I really regret moving here.
I’m looking to move back to where I came from now. My boss above my immediate supervisor is a man and he’s been watching every move I make and going to HR about it. I probably should have sued, but I’m in the defense industry and it would hurt my career. I’m frightened and see double-standards everywhere in the small town where I live. I don’t know how to get my confidence back.
Actually, I did contact the HR department. They are acting as an enabler letting my current manager overly supervise me and constantly reprimand me. I went to another female employee and asked her if the way I was treated was normal for the office and what I should do. My current manager found out about it and told me not to socialize with anyone. I’m scared. I could file a lawsuit, but I’m afraid it would destroy my career in the defense contracting realm. It’s hard not to hate men these days when things like this happen and it’s all caused by men.

I work in an office and have already mentioned to my boss that my desk, computer, chair, & phone situation cause me back pain. Today it is EXTREMELY painful & I wanted to go to the doctor. I asked Human Resources and they said that my desk ergonomics is wrong and they’ll change it as soon as possible. Even if it gets better over time, my back is KILLING me NOW.

What can I do about the pain???
Are they required by law to send me to the work doctor? I’d feel better with some x-rays and definitely want some pain meds! What sort of leverage do I have here? My employee handbook says very little on this topic.
